Health & Hygiene

Addressing the health needs of the local community has emerged as one of the most pressing needs to ensure the total health of the ecosystem.

Ensuring quality of life not only for biodiversity but also for people, we have mobilised resources to meet the needs of the most vulnerable groups of society that are often the first to be affected by HWC/HEC as well as the negative impacts of the climate crisis. Based on survey done in and around our operational areas to understand the health concerns, physical and psychological impact of living in conflict prone areas, we have prioritized strengthening our local public health sector to benefit forest fringe communities. Additionally we conduct medical camps for forest department staff and their families offering routine medical care. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to successfully setup covid isolation centers in select villages around BHL and donate oxygen concentrators and medication to the local PHC’s with the help of faithful partners and doners.
